Following releases on his Third Place imprint, Rhythm Section, and most recently on Control Freak Recordings with Sangre Voss, London’s Will Hofbauer preps his latest solo effort, ‘Softsssss’, for the third release on the France-based Turbo Guidance label.

Dropping on a limited run of 30 dubplates alongside custom-made ceramic objects, the release comprises five light, floaty, and percussive tracks. From the gentle nod to Baltimore club on ‘Be More’ to the fluttering synths of ‘Also, Sponge’, the record’s A-side keeps energy levels bubbling along with bright production and knocking drums throughout.

On the flip, ‘Morning Dip (Beach Mix)’ kicks off the B-side with a rolling drum led jam set in ⅞, one for the adventurous DJ. Closing out the vinyl, ‘Space Hopper Dub’ seeks more familiar territories for a psychedelic steppers cut, an atmosphere matched on the gentle rolling dub of ‘Tumble’.
